Midland, TX

I have used Albuterol Pro Air for several years as needed, but now my doctor is recommended Xopenex since it is not suppose to raise your heart rate. Has anyone used Xopenex and how did it work for you.

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I recently returned a portable concentrator because its pulse settings failed to stop my breathing attacks once they have begun and decided the oxygen was better for me when I had breathing attacks. What do you think?

How Can You Tell What Stage COPD You Are In? Cannot Afford To See A Pulmonary Doctor.

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Spotsylvania, VA

I haven't has a pulmonary doctor for about 3 years now I guess. Just wondering how besides the 6 minute walk test they give you if there is anything else I can do at home to see what stage I'm in. I cannot afford to buy insurance and I cannot afford the medicare premium. I have 3 more months of spirivia left then that's it cannot afford $500 plus a month to buy it.

How Do You Deal With Twisted And Pinched Air Hoses?

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
St Louis, MO

Mine keeps getting all twisted. I'm only on oxygen at night. Keep the compressor in the other room. The hot keeps twisting and eventually causes a pinch or fold. I straighten it out every couple days. This is the first hose, only 6 months old.
Am I doing something wrong? Is it time for a new hose already?

Has Anyone Used Xoponex?

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Dumont, NJ

I have been on various inhalers for COPD. None of them help since I can't breathe them deeply enough into my lungs. Doc put me on nebulizer, but the Albuterol leaves me very shaky and my heart rate goes way up. I'm seeing him again on 1-18 and will ask him about Xoponex which supposedly does not have the same effects as Albuterol. Has anyone heard of, or tried, Xoponex? Thank you.
