Trouble Keeping Cannula In Nose When Sleeping
How does everyone manage to keep their cannula in place when sleeping? I end up dislodging it with every turn & fight with it all night. I’m so exhausted in the morning all I want to do is go back to bed. Would a mask be more managable than the nasal cannula? I’ve had to quit using the 02 & I feel guilty for not using something I’m paying for. I sleep very poorly even without using 02 & I’m getting so frustrated.
Snug the cannula up under your chin.....that should help some. A mask might be more comfortable and work better for you. Talk with your provider about what they have available.
tuck the hose under your arm..i sleep on my side..it works
@A MyCOPDTeam Member.....have you tried using a soft cannula? The soft ones fit more comfortably and snugly than the regular ones. They don't seem to last as long, but I find them more comfortable and better fitting when sleeping. I have both kinds and switch them around to keep me amused I guess.....Anyway, I just thought I would mention the soft cannulas if you have not tried them. Ask your supplier to give you some soft cannulas next time you order. You might like them.
place Canula in this position, behind your head,
