Nothing that hasn't already happened and will continue to happen. Prednisone doesn't work any differently after 75 than before 75. The only difference is that perhaps the side effects aren't as… read more

Esophageal Hernia

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭
Kansas City, MO

I've been seeing the same pulmonary nurse practitioner since diagnosis in 2019. Recently my GI doctor found a hernia in my esophagus. A CT scan found a swollen lymphnode in my chest. Before that my flairups had been more frequent. My PCP tells me that the hernia should be looked as as a priority to avoid choking. I am a bit concerned. I never heard of a hernia in the esophagus. Has anyone ever experienced these issues?

I also have a hiatal hernia it comes from coughing a lot. I just lost a close friend because of not taking care of hers surgeon would not operate and they could not get her well on nutrients.

When I'm having a flairup and it last for more than 19 days, I contact my pulmonary doctor for steroid prescription. That usually takes care of it after about 5 days.

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭
Paris, TN

Went into the hospital to make sure it wasn't a heart attack i was having and I guess they said it wass Gerd but they took an xray of lungs. Of course I wasnt in there over my COPD and I seem to be breathing ok except when I moved around, I noticed I was more out of breath. I checked my results for my lungs and this was on there. Im having a lot of issues with breath and my heart rate has climbed. Not sure if it will clear up on its own or what. My lung Dr is out of Nashville and not around my… read more
