Esophageal Hernia

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭
Kansas City, MO

I've been seeing the same pulmonary nurse practitioner since diagnosis in 2019. Recently my GI doctor found a hernia in my esophagus. A CT scan found a swollen lymphnode in my chest. Before that my flairups had been more frequent. My PCP tells me that the hernia should be looked as as a priority to avoid choking. I am a bit concerned. I never heard of a hernia in the esophagus. Has anyone ever experienced these issues?

Yes, I have that too. But a hernia in the esophagus seems like something rare.
