The handihaler is a dry powder med, the respimat is a mist. Generally the mist is much easier to take and give the same inhalation effort, probably gets farther into the lungs.

Are There Any People On This Site That Is Using Spiriva Respimat? This Isn't The Spiriva Handi Haler Capsule.

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Granbury, TX

My pulmonologist changed my medication from the spiriva handihaler to a spiriva mist that's more like an inhaler. So far this has allowed me to do alot more that I could. Maybe it's because it's new to my lungs and opens them much more.

Spiriva Capsules

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Coffs Harbour, AU

I have been on Spiriva capsules with the HandiHaler for about 6 weeks. I find that about every fourth or fifth capsule doesn't work. I Googled it and found a lot of people complain of this. I saw the pharmacist and he said it was because I wasn't inhaling it properly. Really? How could I not get it to work with one capsule then put another capsule in straight after and it works fine? Has anyone else in the group had this problem with the capsules? I will see my doctor and maybe go on to the… read more
