Wondering What Experiences People Have Had With Pulmonary Rehab ?
When I first went to pulmonary Re Hab it was a 12 week course
I really enjoyed it some of the gym stuff I could not use, but, used other equipment. Then there was a tea break after that we had consultants pop in for 10-20 min you could ask them questions if a member was unable to do it themselves there were those of us that would on their behalf raise the question then ask if they needed supplements questions by doing that the individual got the courage to follow it up next time they were armed and ready with their sheet of paper with list of questions as likewise a lot of others did as well so they really got to understand their specific illnesses plus they learned to speak up for themselves.
2nd time exercising was same but the format was changed instead of the consultants they had lead nurses quite honestly they just presented inhaler various types how to use them n nebulisers you could only ask questions on these only nothing else. Thought this was a bad show to have only that for 12 weeks you could see people were desperate to ask questions about their illness only. Plus it also seemed that a lot was using headings n not giving enough in depth details
I did get a referral to a hospice for a breathless course it really was fantastic it the information was in depth and you got a handout booklet, I also got booked in for the breathless when eating again a fantastic course. I think that the consultants should be referring people to these courses as they are really good language used was not jargon either,
I’m being referred back to pulmonary Re Hab probably be near to summer time if I’m lucky as there’s long waiting lists.well that’s my experience of it.
