Does Anyone Else Choke On Things Like A Piece Of Cake Or Bread?

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

When I say a piece, I mean a tiny piece, not a whole piece of cake or bread. It's kind of like I inhaled it, choke and can't breath, cough n cough trying to get it out to breath.

Hi Tina6,I would see your doctor, just in case you have a oesophageal passage narrowing.
It’s got nothing to do with phlegm,if you got too much phlegm you can just cough it out .
Be always on the safe side.
If you got too much phlegm try nose breathing all the time.
If you are wheezing try also nose breathing.
There hundreds of deceases caused by not breathing through the nose.
Tina you said your nose is full of c—p ,there are way of unblocking your nose,go to Buteykoclinic.com
Good luck

All the time. It aspirates right into your lungs. I can be so scary!

Yes I have done this. catching my breath instead of swallowing I guess. Very scary and painful. It does go away and leaves me weak and shaky.

It happens to me quite often. It scares the devil out of me and sometimes I panic. It's best to try to stay calm and concentrate on breathing. I believe mine is caused by excess phlegm in my throat. I use an acapella and spirometer to relieve some of the mucus and phlegm.
