Thanks, everyone. I guess I'm just out of luck. I do take (generic) Mucinex caplets (1200 mg), but I always liked taking the syrup because it soothes my throat. AliceRose - I actually tried the Geri-Care. There are no words to describe how disgusting it tastes.🙄

@A MyCOPDTeam Member I just found several on Amazon. There is one from GeriCare with no DM. If you don't have Amazon Prime you just pay the shipping. Maybe take another look?

There are no commercial brands of "strait-Tussin" anymore. All over-the-counter versions contain some other ingredient(s). 🤬 You seem to be already aware of the dangers of DM and PE.

The pill forms primarily contain Guafenisin but it is suggested to drink a lot of fluids afterwards. That is the key to reducing mucus anyway. IF you insist, your Doc may write a script for the "Real Deal" - or a substitute like Promethazine.

I sort of forgot about the liquid. I have been taking tablets 400mg. current brand I have is Safrel. I buy the cheapest, store brand or generic. I think they may have discontinued the syrup.
