You'll probably be asked to see your pulmonologist to be cleared for surgery, so that's your chance to talk with them about anesthesia. You should ask what kind of anesthesia would work best for you so you can talk with the anesthesiologist. You could even get the anesthesiologist to talk with your pulmonologist. That way you'll know that they've agreed on what will work for you.

I had an emergency bronchoscopy two years ago and there wasn't another choice but it was fine.

That must have been really scary. I am on the waiting list to have my gall bladder and I am dreading it, I just hope that I’ll be ok.
