The golden rule is: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. This is simplified from Luke 6:31..."As ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them." KJV The Holy Bible.

This site has the "Golden Rule" caution in some of the comment boxes. Totally unnecessary for an Adult Forum supposedly focused on a Chronic medical condition. ONLY those who stray off-topic are later smitten with the impact of this caution.

I like the Biblical versions, too except mine is found in Proverbs 25:21-22. IT says, "If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you".
The idea here is that you will shame or guilt the party you are helping and remind them that their calamity is part their own fault as well.

Now that's A pretty harsh way to treat people you don't know - or even Friends. I like keep IT even simpler. Experience is the GREAT Teacher and IS worth it's weight in Gold. 🤑 Given the sincerity of those who take the time to help and actually care, I just remind those who dismiss or disregard the HELP being offer with this: "HE (or She) who has the GOLD - makes the Rules".
