Always treat others as you would want to be treated.......no matter how it is phrased, that is usually considered the golden rule. Its in the Bible and in most major religions in some format. In social media like this, I think it means to think twice before you reel off a sarcastic answer to a question that was asked in good faith and be kind in your answers. Some people have weird senses of humor that may not be appreciated by everyone. I just try to think before I answer or ask a question and always try to be kind. You never know what trauma others are experiencing and you sure don't want to add to anyone's distress.

Just remember that it's sometimes hard to pick up intent, whether it's humor or something else when you can't see anything other than the printed word. If I think my message may be misinterpreted, I usually say something like, "no disrespect intended" or "sorry if this seems too harsh". At least it lets people know that you're trying to pay attention!
