I was placed in a programme by the local Hospital called "Green Prescription" run through the local Public Health Organisation. The trained therapist assessed my degree of difficulty and prescribed three 10 minute sessions on a rower, exercycle and a treadmill (walk only). There was at least 10 minutes between each part.
Speed was increased as I got used to it.

Thirty minute exercise is the recommended period daily. I started slowly and gradually built up over time. Now, walking 3 miles a day is not a problem. The reasoning is to get oxygen to the lungs, and then having the O2 distributed around the body through the exercise

I got a excercise program on internet called Living well with COPD and do some of the "easy" excercises for plus minus 45 minutes 3 to 4 times per week.

I agree with @A MyCOPDTeam Member , that darn vacuum cleaner kicks my butt every time, the bad thing is we bought the dinosaur before i got sick and it wasn't a problem to push it around on my days of cleaning, but now that i am in stage 3 i do limit my chores to dusty once the finger test show a trail, dishes are a daily thing after supper. but my exercises are the things that make me feel good about myself...i went thru rehab 2 times and i have another chance to go for rehab 3 at the VA Clinic, but the things they do in there i already do them at home...a rehab bike rowing machine (total gym) dumbbells and a treadmill the bike is a birthday present from my older brother and all the rest are second hand given to me by people that care about me and i use them daily with those people in mind. "SLOW MOTION IS BETTER THAN NO MOTION" is a saying i use in my daily life. yes it might take me 2 hours to exercise but for those two hours i am not concentrating on the disease that has taken over my body...i am jamming to my music and having a good time...have a breathe easy day..

I go to the pool to exercise. I can hop
around there pretty well. I'm not much of a swimmer but the exercise part is great.
