QGagoo. I want to share this with you .. Morphine will not help in a short out of breath it will make things worse. I had 3 screws put in my pelvic from a bad fall on ice I had in 2001. Morphine kills all of the organs one by one starts with the heart working with the lungs .. Why do I say this cause I went threw it all.

Sorry for writing this so many years later but I thought this might help someone. I have lymphedema and always retain lymphatic fluids when I take anything that can cause edema. I have lymphedema because I had 27 lymph nodes removed during ovarian and uterine cancer surgery 3-C.

Thanks for the info. They upped to dose of lasex to 40mg per day. We will see... They just sting an hurt. This too shall pass.

@A MyCOPDTeam Member : people taking Morphine that has swelling ankles it's more likely from High blood pressure , depression , reflux disease or high cholesterol .. keep ankles up as much as possible . there is 3 out of thousand people who have swollen ankles /feet. When on morphine the first 6 months will bring it on so tell your doctor next time you visit him or her..
