if you don't absolutely need to take prednisone, don't take it.. the side effects are terrible.. always ask for an alternative instead..

Prednisone upsets my stomach horribly but it does work when I am having a flare up and sick

I think everybody is different as to how soon a drug takes effect...Shot vs. pill, weight, etc...For me they work within an hour. Also, different Dr.'s will tell you different things ya know? It's more like you have to tell them how fast it works...Just saying.

Although Prednisone works, keep an eye on your blood sugar levels. It can raise them past diabetic levels.
