I fell off the non-smoking wagon in July (depression/stress) after abstaining since 2019. My pulmonologist put me on Chantix, and I stopped again on 8/11. Haven't had one since. Best of luck to you!

You have to quit smoking as the first and most important step in treating your COPD. An emergency room doctor told me during one of my visits with an exacerbation that you might as well throw your meds in the trash if you continue to smoke. That hit me enough to quit by using nicotine gum 2 years ago and I haven't had another exacerbation since. Only problem is I'm still addicted to nicotine and chew 7 or 8 pieces a day but better than putting that smoke in my lungs. Give it a try and hope you are successful. WallyMac
