I never eat fried food and rarely eat red meat. I recently gave up diet coke and drink more water. ☺️Love salads, chicken, fish, fruits and instead of grapes I drink wine. LOL

Since unintended weight loss is a problem with COPD, I have thrown my no sweets regimen to the winds. Have discovered mocha ice cream! Haven't been a meat eater for decades, but I do eat fish and chicken. With so little appetite, it's a struggle to keep my weight up, but the size 6 jeans were a wake-up call. I still stick to three meals a day, even if small quantities, and I try to keep things balanced -- protein, veggies, carbs. Research helps!

Hello everyone, I'm not sure if there is a specific diet for COPD, but I do think eating a nutritious meal is best to keep us as healthy as possible yet on the other hand since we are all different, eat what works for you. I find that small meals work best for me because if I eat a large meal than it puts pressure on my lungs and I can't breathe well. I have IBS and have to be careful what I eat. For me, I also have low blood sugar, so when I get a low feeling or shortness of breath I eat something sugary. Hence, I have trouble keeping the weight off and It's hard to exercise too. I do my best and that's all we can do. 😊

Do not stick to any scheduled timing to eat instead prefer to eat when you feel to eat,you feel hunger sensation. Better eat after medication as during breathlessness you can't chew, swallow. Eat little every time. eat more fibre oriented fruits and vegetables like apple, pear, plum, pomegranate, walnut, almond, pulses, spinach, carrot, turnip and alike.

I basically eat what I want, but not too much at a time. Too full stomach really makes it difficult to breathe.
