Does Any One Still Get The Covid Shots. I Read They Have A New One Out Just Checking.
I just got a new ( much better than before) doctor and he is making sure I get all the vaccinations up to date.
I think I really lucked out finding this doctor
Yes. Absolutely ! Got a booster on 19-JUL to keep me protected until I could get the newer one to protect against the FLiRT variant (howeverya spell it, LOL).
Also just got my flu shot last weekend on Saturday (the pulmonologist doesn’t want me getting any immunizations closer than a month apart, @A MyCOPDTeam Member), and with me traveling at the end of October, you know I’m planning to get the latest Covid protection at the end of September / early October when the newest one is out.
I support whatever you choose to do, but to quote the NYT:
———————————————
“In the fifth summer of Covid, cases are surging, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported “high” or “very high” levels of the virus in wastewater in almost every state. The rate of hospitalizations with Covid is nearly twice what it was at this time last summer, and deaths — despite being down almost 75 percent from what they were at the worst of the pandemic — are still double what they were this spring…
Human behavior is, of course, the reason that infections are soaring. But at some point, many reason, we need to live.
“I no longer even know what the rules and recommendations are,” said Andrew Hoffman, 68, of Mission Viejo, Calif., who came down with respiratory symptoms a few weeks ago after his wife had tested positive for Covid. He skipped synagogue, but still went to the grocery store.
“And since I don’t test, I can’t follow them,” he said.
Epidemiologists said in interviews that they do not endorse a lackadaisical approach, particularly for those spending time around older people and those who are immunocompromised. They still recommend staying home for a couple of days after an exposure and getting the newly authorized boosters soon to become available (despite the poor turnout during last year’s round).“

Since I’m older and immunocompromised, and it’s been out of control with many friends and my boyfriend getting it, I’m keeping up with the immunizations.
I may want euth*nasia when the time comes, but I am not sui*idal and very proactive on staying as healthy as possible.
Good luck and happy Wednesday. 28-AUG-24
My GP just told me to get the new Covid shot as soon as it comes out
I had covid last month and it was brutal! I have gotten all the vaccines as they came out so can't imagine how sick I would have been without them. Will be getting the new one soon.
Yes !! I'm getting fall COVID shot and flu shot. We are all immunocompromised and we need to be on alert and pro active about our health.
