What To Do When Forest Fires Are Close By And Lots Of Smoke In The Air?
We had that here in California several years. Smoke was so thick and toxic. I wish I would have left the area and stayed somewhere else. They say to wear a N95 mask, but how when we already have trouble breathing! Use air purifiers. Use air conditioning but close off incoming air. So sorry for you.🤗
@A MyCOPDTeam Member, have you ever tried the anti-fungal, fluconazole, to beat the thrush? I swear by it when my throat acts up and gets crazy…
Please take care of you.

Hi, @A MyCOPDTeam Member and @A MyCOPDTeam Member and @A MyCOPDTeam Member, too.
Rather than just stay trapped indoors when the fires are making air quality aggravating, please consider trying a himalayan sea salt spa day for halotherapy clearance of the inflammation in your lungs. It’s a bit pricey, but when the fires were at their worst, it helped to cut sore throats and other irritants
While staying home, invest in a couple of box fans (one for intake of fresh air, and one for outflow of stale air), and while keeping the other windows closed to keep out the smokey air, use the filter covered box fan - placed in the window - to both clean the air in your house, as well as safely improve air flow on an otherwise difficult air quality day. Block off any gaps so that you can prevent smokey air getting in unfiltered.
There are a variety of designs for free-standing square or triangular-shaped Corsi-style DIY designs, and you can modify those designs to simply use two fans in two windows to address the problem, too.
Take care and good luck.

I would suggest staying inside whenever possible and be sure to cover your nose and mouth with a mask or something if you absolutely have to go out. I hope the fires aren't close to you @A MyCOPDTeam Member. Chris

I am so saddened about the fires in beautiful Jasper. Thank you for your tips.💌
