I don't think it's a good idea but that's just my vote. I can't stand to be around anyone smoking. My ex husband smoked til the day he passed. I will be smoke free 11 years in August. I do have my days I miss it but don't give into it.

Its not a good idea, its an accident waiting to happen.

I would think not due to safety and it also defeats the object. Oxygen is to help you breathe, smoking does the opposite, hence copd.

@A MyCOPDTeam Member I used to take care of elderly and handicapped people in their homes. I had one lady--married to a doctor--who was on oxygen and smoked like a chimney. She was already in her late 80's and one day I got word that she had passed away, so she isn't fighting the addiction anymore. I guess it is possible to smoke while on oxygen, but highly frowned upon and very dangerous to boot.

I tried to continue smoking when first put on home oxygen at level three. However, I stated to feel week and lost consciousness two days later and awoke three days latter in ICU having intubated to keep alive. I quit smoking for good after that episode.
