Does Anyone Have Trouble Sleeping At Times?
My typical sleeping habits bedtime, I watch TV until I fall asleep 11pm until I drop off, and I'm up anywhere between 3am to 5am and my day starts. Any suggestions? Thank you
I try to sleep or nap early in the day! 😴 There are times that doesn't help!
@A MyCOPDTeam Member it is quite common for anyone with COPD to have difficulty sleeping. My sleeping habits have changed just in this past week. If I am tired during the day I take a nap, and yes sometimes for 2 or 3 hours and I don't have any trouble going to sleep when i go to bed at night. In other words I guess I'm saying that I sleep when I'm tired and always feel wide awake when I'm done with my sleep no matter what time of the day or night it is. I have been up since 12:30 this morning--it is now almost 5:00 in the morning and I'm still wide awake. I know I have things that will keep me busy today, but if I feel the need of a nap I will take one. My tv is on 24 hours a day. It's my sleeping pill and my alarm clock. We should probably both just turn our tv's off, but then we may never get any sleep. lol Good luck to you my friend and have a great day! Hugs, Chris

Hello ! You may nap in the afternoon for 20'-30' but not fall asleep ! 😘
Every Body's mileage will vary on this one! I couldn't get a full night's sleep when COPD first hit me. My breathing was always revved up 🏁 - with no where to GO! (see picture)
As long as you are not suffering from low Oxygen levels when you arouse from the couch or the bed, your patterns may not be detrimental. While I am no Athletics geek either, there may be room for you to be a bit more ACTIVE just the same, maybe with a new hobby or volunteer activity.
When the TV gets really boring for me, I end up in the City Hall meetings of my Town - mostly by Zoom! Then. . . a nap.

Do you nap/sleep during the afternoon? If yes, maybe try to stop it as it disturb your night good sleep. 😘
