@Mikelmel you would be amazed at what you can still do if you get up and move around. Baby steps. Whatever you do start out slowly and work your way up, but START!. Erercise in some form is the very best thing you can do for this disease; it slows down the progression and keeps that next stage from coming on too fast. I don't know how long you have had this disease, but maybe if we knew that we could give better suggestions? We are here for you any time you need us and we will do what we can. Try to look on the positive side--think og what you still CAN do rather than what you can no longer do. Just a few tips I have learned along this journey. Good luck to you! Chris

@A MyCOPDTeam Member I just go about my business. I don't let the disease get to me. I had a heart attack, I need oxygen. It might take me longer to do some things, but I do them. I still drive. I still travel. Everything is just slower. It takes me longer to load the washer. Longer to make the bed. You adjust, you cope. But you don't give up. If you need help .. ask for help. Don't let your pride get in the way. That was a hard one for me. I was always the one helping. I didn't know how to ask for help. I got overheated at a family birthday and thought I was going to pass out. I could feel myself wanting to close my eyes and fall. But I had onto a stop and called help..my niece and her fiancΓ©e came to my rescue and then my sister. All was good. Sometimes you tend to feel isolated because a 25 foot hose only let's you go so far. So, while everyone sits in the kitchen laughing about things, your stuck in another room like a leper. No sometimes this disease isn't nice, but you can survive. You can still have a life. Breathe easy my friend and have a safe Memorial Day.
