I Like To Know The Ppl That Have Tried The Zephyr Valve. If You Have What Do You Think About It And Is It Helping You..thx
I did a research post about a year or two back, @A MyCOPDTeam Member, which you can find using the search tool and using the word ZEPHYR.
At the time I checked all the posts, there was a 33% success rate where they were installed and succeeded, a 33% failure rate (where they needed to be removed), and a 33% disqualified from trying of all the folks that I could find.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member had to have hers removed
@A MyCOPDTeam Member is very happy with his
@A MyCOPDTeam Member couldn’t qualify

@A MyCOPDTeam Member - denied valves. Hasn’t been back to site since 2022.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member - early days; still trying to qualify as of March 2024.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member - just started researching valves.

@A MyCOPDTeam Member - can’t remember but believe he got them in and then removed.
Every time you look you might get different feedback / results, but I hope this list will give you a starting point on your zephyr valve journey.
If you date your posts, it will help folks keep up to date with you. If you can’t figure out if someone is active on the site, please tag their profile name and it will take you to their wall where you can find a date showing when they were last online.
Hope this suggestion and short list helps, Saturday, 04-MAY-24
I've got them...they help my breathing quite a bit but I still require some oxygen at times...I would do it again
I have not had it done but asked my pulmonologist at UAB about it. He says they are doing them but I do not qualify as I am not sick enough. I have 45% lung capacity, am not on 02 but do use my portalable oxygen concentrator if walking much & have to when flying. My doctor said most who have it done are much sicker than I am??? Oh well i should be thankful.
It is different for everyone I think. I am feeling better each day had my breathing test on the 28 I believe and they say things look very good. More of the bad air is getting out instead of being trapped and o feel it also. I tried it for the reason being why not and I am glad I did.Take care everyone.
I had them put in in October 23. I thought I would notice an improvement shortly after. It has been about 6 months now and I am starting to notice a difference. One thing that helps is exercising and walking, but I have noticed a little bit easier breathing. my resperatory nurse stated that each person is different so they really cant give you a timeline as to when you should start breathing better. Will I still need to be on oxygen? As of now, yes i do, but who knows what the future will hold.
