Hello All. So, Doc Wants Me To Get A Nebulizer And Use 9% Saline. Any Good Suggestions?
I don’t think so. Not sure. Do you do purse lip breathing? Breathing excercises made for COPD , lung patients. It helps GREATLY. I do the breathing excercises so much that I involuntarily do it now. It’s like my lungs know when to do the excercises without me ! 😂 My pulmonologist suggested the breathing technique. I googled it and found great sites to learn it. The one I found even had a video to show how to do it effectively. Drink LOTS of water. I aim for 64 ounces a day. It makes a difference.
I used this when I first started with Bronchial Asthma back in 1982. Unfortunately many pneumonia’s, lung infections and COPD progression nebulizer not effective for me anymore. I did great when I was on it. It made me feel better. I always did my nebulizer in a very quiet , relaxed setting. I closed my eyes and envisioned the steroids going into each lung. I think it helped to keep my breaths more even and relaxed as I used the machine. I think it benefited me better doing this. I had no side effects.
When my Dr told me to start doing a nebulizer, he had a unit sent to me through the medical supply company and pharmacy. the refill medics come through them every 2 weeks.
I don't know why he would have you go out and buy one when insurance covers it.
@HidiHolmesMcCray there are breathing videos here in the resource section. Along with a lot of other information that is helpful.
Thanks Heidi...
He only wants me to use saline for now. Hopefully relieve the coughing and phlegm I cough up through the day. Do you remember was yours a mesh system?
