Personally I take a off brand name type Mucinex or a mucus relief medicine that is what works for me as far as helping keep my lungs and airways clear

Talk with your doc about reducing the initial dose by half, either cutting the pills in half or taking it every other day or every three days. There is a study in Great Britain that showed that people who started on 250 mg of the med for a month and then went to the full 500 mg dose did much better getting through any digestive issues and were very successful with the full dose.

My husband had that when he first started went away after two or three weeks. He lost 20 lbs. But we knew a head of time it was a side effect. He's been on it now almost two years it's greatly improved how often he gets sick. Used to be 12 or more times a year this past year only twice and not too drastic. It's so worth staying on it.

Thank you Jean I will talk to him about it I stopped for one day and feel normal I started back the 2nd day and so far okay This happened right over Christmas so I hope I can get in to see him in the new year....
