Has Anyone Used Roflumilast - The New Generic Version Of Daliresp?
The FDA has approved a generic of dailiresp called roflumilast. Has anyone used it and does it work as well? I hate to change but my insurance company wants me to use the generic as I suppose it is much cheaper.
Yes been on it for over 2 yrs!!!! Has kept me out of hospital.....
Thanks for the answers. As it ended up, my insurance company rejected the prescription for romflumilast as it was not on our approved list and approved the Daliresp instead. I imagine they will eventually move to the generic because of cost, but for right now I am still on Daliresp. I am glad to know the medication is the same. The reason I asked is that some meds ARE different when generic - like my thyroid med. I do better on the name brand than the generic, and my doctor is the one that recommended it. Anyway....thanks for the info. I won't worry if I have to switch.
And yes, it does work, quite well.
Roflumilast is the chemical name that has always been Daliresp on the market, and is the drug that was approved originally by the FDA. The generic has just appeared in the US, but it's been available in India for several years now. So if you're taking roflumilast, that is exactly the same as Daliresp.
