Using Bipap Machine Does Anyone Feel More Tired And Harder To Get Going In The Morning.

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I like how I breathe using machine. I feel like my diaphragm is working. But I find it harder in the morning after removing the mask. Feels like takes longer to get going. Takes about a hr to get back to breathing with o2 . I have less energy than I thought I would using machine. Just seeing if anyone using a bipap and what they think.

Thx I talked to doctor and to pulmonary therapist. Advise adjustment wasn't a option set low as it was. But both did knowledge that it is one of the side effects of going from bipap machine to oxygen that the lungs needed to adjust and it could take a hr or so to do that. I thought I would feel more energized when getting up.

I think you might check both with your doc and the DME who provide the bi-pap to be sure that it's calibrated correctly for your problem.
