I Have Had COPD For Several Years, Coping Quite Well But Have Just Been Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer And Am Unsure About My Options
I would like the surgical route but I have been told that I would require a High Dependency Bed because of the pressure that would be placed on my lungs from the procedure.
Has anyone had any similar experience or any knowledge that may ease my concerns ?
Thanks I will look into that but it is not something that has been mentioned so it may not be offered in the UK
As an option ask about Brachytherapy
Thank you for your response
Not previously familiar with the term HDBed but Google said it is likely an escalated Care ward in the hospital, like an ICU - Intensive Care Unit I am familiar with. Given the differences in US and UK care standards they are likely the same, - just different terminology. You can look forward to Nurse rounds every 2 - 4 with all vitals, charting, IV meds changed, and some blood labs done at those times as well. Your O2 sats are displayed at the floor Nurse desk and breathing treatments will happen like clockwork. You should be in very good care, indeed. be Well.
