I lost a lot of weight about 25 years ago and was able to get off 02 for over 10 years. I also exercised a lot, and that made my heart and lungs much more efficient. The weight loss made the most difference. Doesn't matter how you do it, holistic diet or a standard diabetic diet which is what I used. The combination of diet and exercise was the key to losing over 100 pounds.

Depending on how tall you are, 20-40 pounds, but I'd make sure you talk with your doc to be sure you're remaining healthy during your weight loss and to talk about how much would be too much. Most pulmonologists like to have their patients carrying a little extra weight so that if they get really sick, they have some reserves to help.
