Does Anyone Know How Fast Copd Progresses?

COPD does progress, but it's pretty glacial most of the time. Sometimes a severe illness, exacerbation or pneumonia can cause additional damage that can't be overcome. Without major illness, however, it's pretty slow. I've been stable with an FEV1 in the mid 30s for nearly 25 years.

It's different for each person considering if you still smoke, have other health issues, take medication as prescribed, mental attitude, stay active.
