Has Anyone Had Their Plug-in 02 Concentrator Shut Down In A Flicker Power Outage?
I had my power go out last night, but just the flicker a couple of times kind, just to mess up your clocks, and my Inogen at-home concentrator shut down. I didn't even think about it for a long time and then realized it was too quiet. It was a little scary I didn't notice sooner. I would think there might be an alarm but there's not. Does anyone who has the bigger rental Invacare or other brands have an alarm for this?
That’s the most frustrating part to being tethered to oxygen for me, too, @A MyCOPDTeam Member. It takes a lot more mental burden to avoid any disasters when trying to have enough energy for errands.
Only 1 errand a day.
Multiple errands are possible, but only with accurate travel options.
👀 So annoying !

@A MyCOPDTeam Member I find that things have piled up on me and the panic and pee is a daily occurrence because I have to go out almost every day for something for my husband with dementia and every morning I think I can do things when I get up but then I can't but by then it's already too late. The worst is the time I allow which is nowhere near what it takes me now and rushing is a huge trigger by itself. I am so discouraged and it's almost like everything I tell myself could happen does. I hope I'll be able to feel less overwhelmed when he is finally someplace else but then there are 10 other things I have either been procrastinating on or in denial about and I was never this person ever. If I don't hold on to being pissed off I'll feel even worse.
Ugh, I was going to delete this but it's not directed at anyone I'm just upset that I can't get on top of anything and then I get scared.
Oh, @A MyCOPDTeam Member, I’m so sorry to hear that happened.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member, did your unit come with a surge protector? I know they don’t want us using these units on a power strip surge protector, but my unit included a tiny surge protector to save my unit from any electrical surges or power spikes. Storms or heat extremes can really fry your equipment, and old wiring can be unsteady and allow power spikes which can destroy fragile / expensive electrical equipment.
If you don’t already use a surge protector, and if your unit isn’t fried, now is the time to buy one to help protect it.

Oh, @A MyCOPDTeam Member, I’m sorry I have been absent since you responded within this stream of comments two (2) days ago.
I hope you have found a solution that is helpful to your breathing difficulties.
Regarding your situation, @A MyCOPDTeam Member, given your situation with your ex-husband (I’m recalling the situation correctly, I hope), does he have an estate plan which includes a POA and a Healthcare Advocate?
If yes, I hope it isn’t you, or that there is a backup that you can call upon for help.
Sadly, your ability to help yourself, never mind others, has disappeared. Until you can help yourself, you must delegate. Please remember your husband will be without your help once you’re dead, so it’s important to plan to step away from his day to day care needs as necessary to not add to your stress.
If there is no one documented or willing to help, you may want to consider hiring a Geriatric Care Manager to take the mental load off your shoulders. Hugs, as I know this is hard.

Alice Rose I have liquid oxygen for my portable tank and when electricity goes out, I fill my portable up and use it! Nice and quiet, too! 😊
