It does seem that results are varied. I know people who had the valves placed and had great results and others, like Linda Smith whose experience wasn't so good. I think they are still learning a lot about the lungs and the valves and what conditions are important to good results. Some pulmonologists who have done many of these procedures do seem to have good results, so practice and familiarity is important.

I had 3 valves input and did really well. About 2 days I had a coughing fit and coughed one of them up. I notified my dr and he admitted me almost immediately and put a new valve in and moved one of the others. I did not do well after that procedure. I don’t feel any different than I did before .I don’t think I would have it done again. I can’t recommend you having it done, but I can’t recommend you not having it done either . I typed all that, just to tell you I can’t answer your question.

I would like this procedure as well. My pulmo doesn’t think I’m a candidate so I’m switching to a pulmo at a hospital that performs this procedure. I still may not be eligible, but they do a lot of research so how knows!

I want them so badly. my body doesn't like the inhalers at all. I've got an appointment with a specialest for them this Turs.day. wish me luck.
