Hi All,
This absolutely stupid, you should be saying to yourself I got this copd and I am going beat it,.if I don’t it going to kill me,end of story. We all live happy ever after.
Like Michael Jackson would say “beat it,beat it”and don’t ask stupid questions just be much more positive.Every day say to your self how can I get fitter and every day say to self I am going get there one way or another.
Little by little you WILL get there.
Set 4 goals every day ,
1–I am going to breathe through my nose much as possible.
2–I am going to exercise to my ability.
3–I am going to eat small meals.
4–I am going to stay calm and meditate.

I am glad for all the people on my COPD page - any support or kindness means the world to me. I find the support you give me lifts me up and I hope that maybe I can lift you up too. I’m coming up on 3 years since being diagnosed with lung cancer and having my top right lung removed. Let’s all try to move forward and be kind to those who love us and who we love.

When I was diagnosed With Multiple Sclerosis 37 years ago I was so afraid of what would happen in the years to come. I now have 12 Chronic illnesses, including. COPD Emphysema. It has taken away the ability to do many of the activities I used to be able to do. Having said all this, the one thing I know to be true is that part of life is dying. I'm grateful for having these illnesses as they have forced me to live each day to the fullest, with positivity and laughter. I notice things like beautiful scenery I am surrounded by. When I was working and raising my children I was so busy that I did not notice any of the beautiful scenery etc. I have volunteered where I can and taken up new hobbies . I really do love life.

4 years ago I wasn’t very active after quitting smoking, then 10 months later I got my first one and only exacerbation, I thought it was check out time from this planet. On my own with my 3 year old grandson, after tests and x rays I was told I had COPD and that I only had 33% lung capacity. It’s the only time in my life I have been told I have something that is incurable.. basically a long term terminal illness. But that was the wake up call for a lifestyle change. So I immediately started walking 6 miles a day and went on a calorie controlled diet I lost 2.5 stone in 3 months. Fast forward 3 years, I now go to 2 running clubs and to a gym 3 days a week. If I had not of been diagnosed would I have done that? I don’t think so. So COPD has damaged me and saved me. Activity in any form, long or short hard or easy is your best friend. I do 5 k events fairly regularly, I have done a half marathon, a 10 k , ok so I am not the fastest. But I am 68 with COPD, I can’t improve my lung capacity, but my recovery rate has improved substantially.
Keep active within your abilities, it will stand you in good stead no matter what stage you are at and improves your mental outlook.

Hi All,
What products phlegm in first place????
Phlegm is produced by bad breathing and it’s no good saying drink water it will thin the phlegm down but you can stop this happening in the first place then you don’t have to drink water,no phlegm but you need water because body is made of certain percentage is water.
So breathe through the nose all the time and stop particles going down your lungs, the nose got more hairs then my HEAD . Then it’s got more blood supply to the nose so that every breath is warm and humidifiered. That’s why your get a nose bleed very easily.
A dog breaths 20-30 breaths a minute,humans 10-14 breathe a minute.Copd suffer 20-30 breathe a minute.A turtle-2-4 breathe a minute.
Who lives the longest out of the above, the TURTLE because he only take few breaths a minute.
Nose breathe all the time and live longer.and phlegm free and drug free——try Buteyko breathing.
Bye for now
