When Do You Know If You Need An Antibiotic If The Thing You Have Is Only 5 Days Old?
Went to the Pulminologist Tuesday and it is now Saturday. Breathing ok but lots of thick yellowish mucus.
Get your doctor to check it out @A MyCOPDTeam Member! Doesn't sound normal to ME.
My Dr just wants me to call or email him as soon as I start seeing yellow or green color in my mucus. It is best to get antibiotics as soon as possible or things can get worse fast. It will save you a hospital visit.
When I start to see yellow or green mucus, I start an antibiotic and call my doc to let him know what's going on. I usually get a call back to continue and let him know if things don't improve in a couple of days.
