Yes, ask your doctor for a codine based cough syrup. Insurance will not cover it, but will stop your cough completely in a bottle or two. Makes you very drowsey.
If you doctor cannot or will not prescribe that, Buckwheat honey available on Amazon.com is just as effective but takes much longer to completely stop your coughing completely, and does not make you tired at all.
