LVRS Pending
Hi everyone, I’m so grateful for this group, how informative and to be able to share and gain knowledge from. ❤️
I’ve got an appointment with a surgeon tomorrow, I’ve had all tests done and asked for LVRS rather than a trial of my lungs nerving glued and vents being installed which could collapse. Im stage 4, 23% lung capacity. Im 51 and have Alpha-1 too
Diagnosed at 40 with stage 3 and 36% capacity which I kept steady for 10 yrs until I got Covid twice last year, 2022, which took 23% away…… read more
Best of luck to you Jo and you get the relief you need.
Depends on your age but, if your in Medicare you can get a nurse to come and check in on you.
Family or a good friend is a great option. Have them go with you to the hospital and make sure that the Dr. Knows they will be your support staff. Also at discharge have them be with you in the recovery room so they can get specific instructions from the nurse in your care and any meds you may need. Most important they need an idea how to check bandages and wound care if needed.
Don't leave the hospital until you have gone to the bathroom. Actually produce urine, a real good flow.
Make sure you are steady on your feet and not dizzy or clumsy.
Try contacting Hospice. They helped my mom when I couldn’t be there. They also helped me as well. There is palliative care. Good support with nurse practitioners on home visit.
Best wishes for you, I hope you have heard from them by now. I pray your surgery goes well ❤️
Thank you
