Has Anyone Else Had A BLVR Procedure? Also Known As Endobronchial Valve Placement?
I had this procedure 3/13/23. Supposed to help breathe better. One of my biggest problems is that I have full deviated septum & don’t get enough oxygen. Struggling to recover/improve. Has anyone had this procedure or figured out what to do w a deviated septum? I’ve tried everything OTC that I can think of.
According to what I have read about deviated septums, nothing over the counter is going to help. The septum is the thin wall between your nasal passages. Sometimes it requires a surgical procedure to correct, but if it is interfering with your breathing you should contact your physician and make him/her aware of how it is affecting you. Consulting a doctor about issues like that is always a good idea. Good luck @A MyCOPDTeam Member 4-8-23
Prayers going out.
I had 3 valves placed in url 04/11/22.Everything went smoothly with the procedure, but my COPD symptoms have got alot worse instead of improving.I am now waiting to find out if the doctor's are going to remove them and perform lung reduction by surgery instead.
Hi Lisa9, you are still in the early days, give yourself more time to see if they have worked. My Doctor's at Guys and St Thomas hospital London told me it can be between 45-90 days to notice an improvement . I had an x-ray and CT scan a couple of weeks ago and the lobe has not deflated..
Even though for me they haven't worked ,the procedure is not bad and is reversible..Good luck.
I'm surprised the evaluation for the procedure didn't take into account your deviated septum and suggest that you get that resolved prior to having the procedure. Just my opinion, but it's something that should have been considered.
Has Anyone Had Lung Reduction Surgery. Do You Recommend This Surgery And Were You Able To Stop Using Your Oxygen?
