What Is A Nebulizer?
What is a nebulizer, when & how do you use it and what does it do for you?
That was a really good reply from Jean, I'm so confused with the meds that you guys have over there, back here in the UK at my age all meds are free with in reason but I can tell you that a nebuliser is one of the best things I've ever used for my breathing, I'm on salbutamol, have a good day peeps.
A nebulizer turns into steam. You put your prescription in the chamber and you breathe it in for approximately 15 minutes. It does a world of difference when you breathe in your meds. I did this while I was in hospital with a pneumothorax.
A nebulizer uses a liquid form of medicine that turns into a vapor you breathe deep into the lungs. I use a flutter device with it to get mucus out. I got both from my pulmonologist and use it when I'm wheezing. It can make a big difference in avoiding sickness. There's a video about it on this site and I think everyone who deals with chronic bronchitis should have these.
I was at the ER for breathing issues several times and that was expensive. The ER doctor suggested that I get a home nebulizer and I did. I am glad that I did too. I use it almost every morning to start my day and find it helpful. I got a portable one that I use when we are away from home.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member it's not your reagular meds it's a small cartridge the doc orders for you that turns to steam that you breath in I have 2 of them lol
