There are no pain receptors in the lungs, so they can't hurt. That said, there are other things in the area of the lungs that can hurt: muscles, both intercostal and around the ribs and the lining of the pleural cavity are two that I would suspect. Your acid reflux may be responsible for most of your problem. You need to see your doc to get a really good handle on the reflux problem, but in the meantime, talk with your pharmacist and see what they recommend. Get an appointment with your pulmonologist or your PCP. Your pulmonologist will know that reflux and GERD are major issues for people with COPD and GERD really aggravates the COPD, especially coughing, which may be part of your problem with pain. I don't think it's a major cause for concern in the short term, but get it resolved for the long term and for your own comfort.

@BarbaraDouglas, Your comment about doing the torso rotation and your husband’s look made me laugh out loud! Lol.

Tried it in the bathroom and looked like such a discombobulated clown, thought, this can’t be right🤣

Maybe it’s the laughter that make us feel better after doing it😂

Be careful with cinnamon. The oil can burn the lungs I read.

My Bride took medicine and other stuff several times a day for years with a bad reflux problem. One night, in the lab, I discovered that cinnamon is great for it. I got her some Ice Breaker cinnamon flavor breath mints (in the Walmart checkout line for about 2 bucks) and her heartburn is gone. She uses maybe a 1.5 oz. can a month or so and life is better.
