Since I have copd, my pulmonologist told me last fall that I needed to get the flu shot for seniors and the new two part pneumonia vaccine asap for my protection. I stopped on the way home from his office and got both at Walgreen's. The pneumonia vaccine comes in two parts, a year apart. I get shot number two in October. We need to do all we can to stay healthy!

No it will not stop it but it makes it easier to fight it off.

The two shot pneumonia vaccine is relatively new. The old vaccine was just one shot, but the new and improved vaccine is two shots, a year apart. I have had both old one shot (years ago) and am now taking the new two-shot vaccine.
