Drinking an 8 oz. bottle of Schweps tonic water nightly did the trick for me and the cramps. Rather the tonic then taking another vitamin.

An exacerbation last for quite a long time, if you include the time it takes to get rid of the cough; sometimes four to six weeks for some people. However, you can usually get well enough to start working on gaining strength by the end of the time you finish your antibiotics, unless you've got a really stubborn bug and it requires several different antibiotics before you find the one that works. Once you finish the antibiotics and are beginning to feel better, start by going back to your regular exercise routine. You'll want to go back to the beginning, and once again, concentrate on going slow enough so you can do 30 minutes without stopping, or at least give it a good try. You may have to stop before you've completed the 30 minutes, but get back to it the next day and work your way up, just like you did when you started. Don't be surprised if it takes you several months to get back to where you were before you got sick; it's the nature of the beast.

when my lungs throw a fit my doc gives me Prednisone. For cramps I take potassium either your doctor can prescribe it or get it at walmart or dollar store. I hope you get to feeling better. Take care

@A MyCOPDTeam Member are you sure they are cramps and not a problem with your kidneys.? Sounds what I had from my back to my stomach and was passing a kidney stone and boy did that hurt. I would definately talk to a doctor about what you are feeling.
