I'm 50 And Have COPD.. It's Getting So Hard To Work Does Anyone Know If I Would Qualify For Social Security Disability?

Yes you will be turned down the first time,at least I was...Be sure to have all your medical in order such as have an intensive breathing test done by your pulmonary Dr.....State rules maybe different but as disability is Fed. I would think it is the same everywhere.You can go to the SS site and read about conditions needed. Then if you have the med. history they will accept it. Good luck.

If your breathing is 40% or less you are automatically qualified for SSD

I applied in the state of Louisiana. Got it hassle free and no lawyer. You can't fake breathing tests they send you to their doctor for testing. He replied back in 2011 "you breathe like an 80 year old".

Hi Dawn im 57 and i feel the same way. I was told you have to have medical records to prove your illnesses. And you need to have a lawyer cuz. You will be denied good luck.
