Your doc should have prescribed X LPM which would tell you where to set your concentrator (oxygenator, I'm assuming). That should tell you where to set it. To see whether you're being adequately oxygenated, you need to buy an oximeter. You want the oximeter to show a saturation level above 88 and usually 90 is more comfortable. My agreement with y doc is to keep my oxygen saturation between 93 and 97, so I adjust my settings on whatever machine I'm using to keep me in that range. Just FYI, normal range is between 95 and 99, so you can gauge where you are compared to the "normal" world. If your doc suggests that you leave your concentrator set at 2, for instance, and never change it, talk about the different activities you do and how that affects your need for O2. Walking across the room to the bathroom isn't the same as lugging something up from the basement: You need a lot more O2 for the latter, and you doc ought to know that!
