Nebulizer
How to know which medication to put into nebulizer I have two Albuterol Sulfate and Ipratropium Bomide and Alberterol Sulfate together. Which to use and when? I have been using the Ipratopium as it has two meds in it and am having a exacerbation of COPD but I really don't know which to be using and when!!! I am new to the nebulizer only used it for first time yesterday so any help would be appreciated.
l use my nebulizer three or 4 times aday,l try to use it just brfor bed time which helps me sleep better.
Thank you very much for the response! I should be using the Albuterol right now. I do have pro air for rescue but thought that the nebulizer might work better for this excerbation. Just getting over one infection and do not want it to get that serious again. Thanks again!
The Ipratropium and Albuterol (Duoneb)is a maintenance med, and needs to be done four times a day. The Albuterol is a rescue med and is used only when needed. If the Duoneb is too much trouble, talk with your doc about either Spiriva or Combivent. They're inhalers that do the same thing as the Duoneb and because they're inhalers, they're usually less trouble to remember to use. Spiriva is once a day and Combivent is four times a day, but it's easy because it's an inhaler.
