Does Central Heating Affect Your COPD?
I have noticed that my lungs seem to choke up when I have the central heating on for long periods over the winter months.Does anyone else have this problem and what do you do?
You might try a humidifier. I find that helps a lot when the heat is on all the time.
A nurse told me that cool air is better makes breathing easier also a fan is good. If the humidity bothers you a dehumidifier might also help take some of the moisture out of the air.
Yes I have not turn my heater on because it causes me problems breathing, I have been lucky to have a apartment that has been warm enough for me not to have to turn the heater on and it been cold outside, I just grateful to have a place that is warm enough that I have not had to turn on the heat, I cannpt sleep with the heat on at all, I have to use a fan year round,
I need to get one, I just been lucky and have not turn the heat on, the apartment I live in, is warm and I have not had to turn the heat on, I was scared I would have to, and sure don[t want to turn it own, it been real cold here, but I am hot natured, so I haven[t had to use the heat, Nice to hear from you Linda Elton
