I Use Oxygen At Night Only. When Traveling What Do You Do If You Only Have One Of The Large Concentrators.
I'd hate to have to lug that with us. I don't qualify for portable oxygen and have read that the portable ones shouldn't be used at night time anyway. What do others do in this situation. Have you purchased your own portable and, if so, can you recommend any. My doctor just gave me an Advertisement for, I believe, Imogen and was not of much help in what to do. I think she really doesn't think I should travel. I've read that many of you travel often so there must be a solution. Thanks for⦠read more
When I travel, I arrange for my supplier to leave O2 where I'm going to be when I get there. The providers are not required to supply you with O2 to travel, but if you take tanks for out and about, most don't argue. If you're going to stay overnight on your way, you can arrange for your provider to deliver to the address where you're going to stay. The kicker is that someone has to sign for what they leave and then the company has to come and pick it up. In hotels it's easy because someone's always there; for homes it can be a bit of a pain.
I just went to Maryland to visit a friend. Lincare delivered a concentrator and tanks to his home and then to the hotel where I stayed right after that for a meeting the next day. It works slick.
Most people can't use the POCs for sleep and it's not recommended that you do.
Inogen G3 or G5 are great on trips by car cause they plug into your cigarette lighter to keep the battery charged.
Hi all I am in Australia Broken Hill and I have COPD as well as Asmtha and other problems I am on oxygen 24 hours a day I have an electric concentrator with a 15 metre cord for inside the house, a very large cyclinder on the patio out back for gardening and entertaining with same size cord When going out I have 2 different size bottles that fit into a little carrier on wheels that I push or pull which ever way I want and take in the car and for shopping depending on how long I want to be away from home Do you have any of these ??
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy new year to all and blessing

@A MyCOPDTeam Member - Thanks for responding. Unfortunately right now I'm between 2 companies, Apria which lost their Medicare contract and Lincare which hasn't supposedly received all the documentation need to submit to Medicare to take over. I'm caught in the middle but at least Apria, who I've been with for 21/2 years, can't take my concentrator back until I get a replacement. This has been going on since October and we're supposed to leave for Florida in 3 weeks. I'm getting a bit anxious which is becoming a daily problem. What do you mean take tanks for out and about? I've never used anything but the large concentrator and when I've gone somewhere for just a night or two I don't use O2. If you're every in Maryland again I'd love to meet you. In just outside of DC. You are so knowledgeable and provide such helpful/useful information that I always look for your responses. I'd love to ask you a million questions since you've been dealing with this disease for so long and seem to have things under control but I won't drive you crazy right now. Is there a way I can just contact you with questions? I'm new to this sight and learning how to find things. I spend so much time researching, I see you are also on Inspire, always looking for ways to cope and learn all I can of how to deal with my life as it is now. Sorry to have gone on so long. Thank you and if you have any suggestions of how to move things along with changing companies I'd love to hear your recommendations. Best, Mary
