A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

Have recently been prescribed 3lpm~24/7. For those already on 24/7, how do you handle Showering?

Second ?....Anyone have a Cat and issues with 'said Cat' poking holes in trailing tubing?

Hi MichelleGauvin ....I do the same with the temp of the water. Sure just about suffocates a person when it is turned up higher. Never gave it much thought but since COPD issues sure can feel the difference. I also take precautions when in or out of the tub/shower. I make sure I go slowly ..grasp a bar and make sure my feet are stable before I move again. I then step out onto a very large bath towel ...and have another to dry with. Like mentioned above ... my towel just rests on my body and absorbes .. as the other parts air dry. I started by shampooing my hair in the kitchen sink. To not be tooo active in the tub/shower so I can accomplish the washing. I still do the sink shampooing. Get my bath and then onto the washing of my hair. My arms are what puts me out of oxygen. As when I am mobile and using them for washing, etc... I use oxygen. So, get one thing accomplished ... and then when good to go, do the shampooing. One step at a time ... stay calm, and take your time. Thanks everyone for the tips ... we each have our way of getting the job done. Even the smallest of tasks helps so much.

I wear my oxygen hose in the shower. I have 75 feet hose on my big oxygen concentrator. I put on a Teri cloth robe to dry my body. I to just use a towel for my lower legs and head and face. I also have a shower chair. So I sit when I shower. I have bathroom stool that I sit on when Brush my teeth and shave. I also sit on it to get dressed after my shower. I hope all of this helps. Take care. Chuck

I got a terry cloth robe. When I get out of the shower I put it on and it acts as a towel. I wear my oxygen in the shower, have a shower chair, a handheld shower
head and if I get SOB I sit on my chair pursed-lip breathing until I catch my breath.
I shower every other night unless it's a hot day and I have sweated a lot. Sometimes a shower is easy and other times it scares me. I know that sounds silly, but it happens to me.

I hang my tubing over the shower curtain, and wear while I shower. Its like it becomes part of you. I have a shower chair and keep the water Luke warm to help with breathing. Rescue inhaler before showering does help.

I have long tubing, wear mine into the walk in shower, pull it down under my chin while I scrub my face, rinse it and put back on, then do my hair and rest of my body. I dry off in the shower except for hair. Step out and dry the tubing with the towel, then my hair. No problem at all. I also have a chair if I want to sit and scrub my feet. Breathe Easy you all.
