There is a product called ALKALOL recommended to me a very long time ago by an Ear ,Nose, and Throat doctor. Google it to find out where they sell it in your area. CVS, Walgreens and local Rexall drug stores carry it. Actually, Amazon carries it and you can have it delivered regularly. This product is fabulous! I use a mix of half water with half Alkalol. Use it in a nasal douche or netti pot, gargle with it. It clears everything out. It is a mucus solvent. I h ave even bought a nasal spray bottle from Amazon and I fill it with half alkalol and half water. I can use it as a nasal spray that clears up my passages without harsh chemicals. This is a Eucalyptus based product. Good luck and feel free to ask questions. This will make you feel like a new person.

Drinking lots of water helps thin the mucus so you can cough it up easier.

I have carbocisteine. I vary the dosage according to my needs. It seems to help a lot.
