Working While Wearing Oxygen
Does anyone have a job and must wear oxygen on the job?
I am on O2 and work 3 days a week answering phones at a doctor's office. I have a portable O2 concentrator battery operated with a wall plug in charger and auto charger. Before I had the portable I had small O2 tanks and had to bring 2 extra tanks to be sure they would last the day. The concentrator is much easier and dependable.
I did years ago. It was fine. It probably depends a bit on what sort of job you have as to how it would work, but I didn't have any problems. I still use O2 when I consult, fly with it regularly and travel at least twice or three times a month.
Talk with your insurance company to see what you could work out. When I was on O2 24/7 and still working, I had a concentrator in my office and one at home and tanks for out and about and in between.
Congratulations on staying active ,it is so important to remain active as long as we can.
My doctors say that I need oxygen, when I'm up and moving about. I don't feel that I want to be walking around with oxygen at work so, I try to sit for most of the day, and walk to the warehouse no more that 3 times a day. I have a portable tank that I keep in my car just in case
