Nebulizer

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭
Haliburton, ON

My husband Dave has a bad chest infection and has had to go to the hospital twice in the last week once by ambulance for shortness of breath. The dr. on call suggested a nebulizer to help. Does anyone on here use one and does it help? Thankyou

I've used one for several years. It helps me and I need to do it more often than I do. It seems like I always forget until it's too late--I have to start using it 3 to 4 times a day. My maintenance is very important and even if I"m not short of breath, I need to do this to avoid getting worse.

I use my nebulizer at least 4 times a day along with my inhaler twice in the morning and twice at night... I also have my rescue inhaler too for during the day.... sometimes the nebulizer is the only thing that helps me.... other times even that don't help and I end up at the hospital.... you do have to have a script but neither the machine nor the medication is very expensive... well worth it... tell your Doctor you need help and need one...

A nebulizer changes medication from a liquid to a mist so that it can more easily inhaled into the lungs. Breathing therapy for asthma.
