I was put on doxycycline 3 times a week a couple of years ago as a preventive. I believe it helped reduce exacerbations but who knows for sure? My new doctor yesterday took me off of it but I'll be taking 3 new very potent antibiotics instead, one of which is clarithromycin.

Doxycycline works for me. Not azythromycin, everyone is different. I didn’t know they used azythromycin on a regular basis to help treat copd.
I’m only prescribed antibiotics when I’m sick, elevated temp ect.
Thank you for the information!
